Retention ("we", "us") is operated by Retention App. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. It is written in plain language; if anything is unclear, email [email protected].

WHAT WE COLLECT

You give us:

• A first name (or nickname) during onboarding.
• Answers to the onboarding quiz: age range, gender, faith, symptoms, goals, usage patterns related to pornography. Because these answers touch sexual behavior, mental health, and religious belief, we treat them as special-category data under the GDPR.
• Optional commitments, journal entries, and ceremony inputs you create inside the app.
• Push-notification permissions and reminder times.

Created automatically:

• A device-generated user ID (no email or phone required to use the app).
• Subscription status and purchase history from Apple App Store or Google Play (via RevenueCat).
• Aggregated, pseudonymous product analytics (screens opened, onboarding step reached, streak resets) used to improve the product.
• Crash logs and basic diagnostics.

We do not collect:

• Your real name, email, phone, address, photos, contacts, calendar, or location — unless you explicitly send them to us via support email.
• The list of apps or websites you block with Screen Time. iOS Family Controls keeps that selection on your device; it is never transmitted to our servers.

WHY WE USE IT

• Run the app and personalize your plan, content, and streak tracker.
• Process your subscription and verify entitlement.
• Send reminders and recommit notifications if you enable them.
